Many places in the vicinity of this city are associated with the brigand chieftain O. Dovbush. Yaremche is one of the major tourist centres in the Hutsul region. Mykhaylovskaya Church (St. Michael’s), 17th cent. A wood structure located on a hill near the village of Dora. Twentieth century paintings adorn the walls. Built in the Hutsul folk style. Church of St. Yoan Mylostyvy (St. John the Merciful), Bell Tower, 18th c. These wood structures are some of the finest examples of the Hutsul folk architecture.
