Berestechko Village became the site of Ukrainian pilgrimage after the battle of Berestechko, June 18-30,1651, which took place between the armies of Ukrainian Hetman B. Khmelnytsky and the Polish King, Jan Casimir 3. In 1846 Berestechko was visited by T. Shevchenko who recorded the events of 1651 in the poem “The Field of Berestechko” and “Beyond the ravine”. Fekla’s Chapel, 17th cent. According to legend, the cannel was built on the graves of 500 girls, tortured to death by the Tatar in Berestechko. Troyitsky (holy trinity) Roman Catholic church, 1765. A painting of the battle of Berestechko was executed in the 1853 on the outside wall. Constructed in the Baroque style; alongside it is an 18th cent. bell tower.
