Reliable information about the convent in Kitayevo goes back to 1716. Founded in the Kiev Rus times by the Prince Andrew Bogolubsky this ancient palace-fortification came under the jurisdiction of Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra. This is a place where you can find the remnants of the ancient city of the 9th-10th centuries, get to the cave labyrinth and see churches of Ukrainian baroque style. Here Saint Dosipheya and the holy fools Pheophil and Payisiy were celebrated for their spiritual feats.
