Excursion to Mariinsky palace, duration: 2 hours Mariinsky Dvorets (Mariinsky Palace), 1750-1755.
*INSIDE VISITS on Wednesdays and Saturdays only – always subject to availability and request at least one week prior to booking. Named in honour of Tsar Alexander II wife, the Empress Maria. This beautiful blue-and-cream-coloured palace is similar in style to the imperial summer estates in St. Petersburg. Bartolomeo Rastrelli designed this building. It’s a lovely mixture of Ukrainian and Russian Baroque. Today the palace is used for official state functions.
